Have you tried our super stretchy cotton active wear?
It wasn’t too long ago that everyone said: cottons are comfortable, but you will never manage to make it stretchy and functional enough for active wear. Years of hard work later, we are close to proving everyone wrong. Cotton has the active wear industry much more to offer than we imagined. And we are not just talking about hoodies, joggers and t-shirts. We are talking about leggings and even sports bras. In order to determine if a fabric qualifies to be used for tight fitting active wear, it will need to check all of the below boxes:
- It should have good stretch & recovery and feel like a 2nd skin
- It should not be see-through
- It should be breathable
- It should be durable
After a long period of R&D we have reached a point where lab tests at Hohenstein confirm that we can reach elongation of close to 200%, recovery close to 95% , abrasion resistance of over 30.000 rotations, and breathability scores in the highest category. What’s more, our products have been wear tested by industry professionals that were all very excited about the fabrics.
Why did we do it? Not for sustainability reasons. While we care, we always put product first. We don’t believe in making a fabric out of recycled materials, only to watch it get discarded more early in its life cycle. So if we release a cotton/spandex fabric, we will design it in a way that it will be loved & worn. As a bonus feature, you carry less fossil fuels on your body and discard less fossil fuels back into our eco system.
What started with our 50/1 stretchy interlock expanded into a larger range with different fabrics for different purposes. Some of our favourites are:
- 32/s stretchy interlock in 260 gsm: Ultra soft and low tension for athletic and athleasure.
- 40/s stretchy singe jersey in 240 gsm: Soft and thin for 2nd skin feel for athletic and athleasure
- 50/s stretchy interlock in 310 gsm: Our core compressive quality
- 80/s stretchy Pima cotton interlock in 290 gsm: Our all-round performer that customer mistake for nylon
